Paper Abstract:      This paper presents a case study on adoption of mobile payments in a Chinese taxi company. The purposes of the study are to examine the factors that affect the mobile payment adoption in Chinese taxi companies, and find out why and how mobile payments are adopted in Chinese taxi companies and taxicab. The literature review of the subject revealed that IS theories the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and Diffusion of Innovation have been applied in prior research. Our study model is based there theories. The empirical data was collected by a survey and by conducting three focus group interviews in the case taxi company. The data analysis examine the factors the proposed model and lists nine findings. These findings provide the foundation for future mobile payment research in Chinese taxi industry, and have practical implications for the taxi company managers and mobile payment market researchers as well.
